How to improve emotional health and combat anxiety

Mental health includes our emotional, psychological and social well being. It affects how we think, feel and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood.

In Pakistan, people are suffering from anxiety because they don’t care about their mental health but the fact is that mental health is as important as physical health.

Sometimes people feel stressed out about their study or work and causes anxiety. if you experience mental health problems, your thinking, mood, and behaviour could be affected. Many factors contribute to mental health problems, including:

  • Biological factors, such as genes or brain chemistry
  • Life experiences, such as trauma or abuse
  • Family history of mental health problems

Mental health problems are common but help is available. People with mental health problems can get better and many recover completely.

Here are some tips on how you can look after your mental health:

  1. talk about your feelings. talking about your feelings can help you stay in good mental health and deal with times when you feel troubled.
  2. Keep active.
  3. Eat well.
  4. Drink sensibly.
  5. Keep in touch with your loved ones.
  6. Ask for help when you need it.
  7. Take a break
  8. Do something you are good at.
  9. Accept who you are.
  10. Care for others.

People should work on themselves and should improve their mental health and combat anxiety in order to live a happy and peaceful life.
